Day 67

Today was another rainy gloomy day! I hung around the house with kev and the babies relaxing! Made some time for editing wedding photos and eating yummy food! :) Here is a photo of our desert and my crazy husband with his awful hockey beard!

until tomorrow...

Day 66

Today was eventful to say the least! My day started off early by calling the vet and rushing to get us all out of the house and over to Poland to take our pug Millie in, she has a major infection going in her smushy little face, I feel so awful! She needed a cone for her head, antiseptic wipes for her face, powder for her face, eye drops, and steroids.
We got home and I received an email from a girl I had contacted a few days ago about being an assistant wedding photographer for the summer, to build up my portfolio..get more experience..and make some extra money! :) Anyhow, she emailed me saying she needed a photographer today for her wedding, her regular assistant photographer had broken down an hour away and wasn't sure she would make it at all. I got the email and called her right away to see if she still needed help and to see about timing and everything! She had just arrived at the salon and told me to come as soon as I could..I was super excited and ready to go so I called my mother in law to come watch the kids and off I went not knowing what to expect at all!
I got there and was pretty much just thrown right into it all! I stayed at the salon for a bit taking photos of the bride getting ready and then she wanted me to head over to where the groom and his groomsmen were and take pictures of them getting ready while she went with the bride and her bridesmaids! They greeted me with open arms and were lots of fun! A bunch of tattooed guys with flasks in hand! ha! We took some candid shots of them getting ready, the mother of the groom was adorable..you could tell he was a momma's boy. She got him dressed in his suit and teared up giving him lots of hugs and kisses, it was very special! Once we got them all ready to go we headed outside to take some photos of the men in there suits before we headed to the ceremony site and of course they had me stop on the way for some more liquor for their flasks haha!
We arrived at the ceremony and I ran around taking pictures of details of the site, rings, and some more of the groom and his groomsmen while waiting for the bride to arrive and the ceremony to begin! The ceremony was supposed to be outside under a beautiful gazebo at lost valley ski resort, but of course it ended up raining and it got shoved into this small little room with awful lighting :( not so fun for us photographers, but we did the best with what we had! The ceremony was short and sweet and we made it through and then onto the formal shots we went! It was crazy chaotic and full of rain, but we made it happen as well! Then onto the reception we went! It was alot of fun until the flashes we were using stopped working O_O mind you it was a night wedding in awful lighting so those were about our main saving grace, but once again we did the best with what we had and just tried to enjoy our night and just get the shots we needed and have fun with the guests! It was a really fun wedding with an awesome bunch of people! It was such great experience for me! and of course I realized SO many things can go wrong and you really just have to be ready to role with them and stay calm! All in all it was an amazing experience though and I didn't get home until after midnight! Here are some of my favorites from the day! :) I can't wait for my wedding next weekend!!!
